ETAC Development

Dear friends
Being selected as an ETAC Ambassador no doubt increased my work load but on the other hand the skills which I have developed during the training has really helped me to grow into a more competent teacher.
While preparing, implementing and evaluating my I.T. integrated lessons despite problems such as frequent power failure, unavailability of Internet and slow speed of work by students, it was a satisfying experience as it served to enhance learning of my students.
The teaching strategies adopted for ETAC training were effective enough to sustain my attention till the completion of my training and I looked forward to apply the same in my classroom teaching and I am hopeful they will go a long run in improving my teaching skills.

reading techniques

Dear All
I wanted to share a very useful reading technique that could help a child in developing his/her reading skills TO-WITH-BY technique helps the child learn and apply right words more quickly and also help a child to practice fluent reading and improves comprehension.
The TO-WITH-BY Method :
Read the short section TO the child twice.
Read the same section WITH the child twice.
Finally ask the child to read it BY herself/himself twice.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS OUT OF THE BLUE

Impetus for writing the present brief is derived from an article published in Daily Dawn on Saturday April 5 2008 titled School holidays out of the blue.
Much to the parents and teachers plight these unplanned and sudden holiday announcements not only serve to increase the work load of teachers who are inundated to complete the course on time but also compromises the learning of students who in the end will have to wreck their brains to make up for the lost work. So celebration over a pleasant surprise of an extra holiday turns into an un-called -for labor.
Unfortunately holidays on birthdays and death anniversaries of National leaders, saints and religious occasions are only observed as staying home for rest and recreation without understanding the spirit.
What is required is a mindful approach on part of government ,school authorities and parents to make children aware of the significance of such occasions, generating discussion surrounding the event and how it impacts the public life, religious obligations as well as national interest.

tare zameen pe

I watched this movie with my children and it really touched my heart . I think it was an eye opener for many teachers and parents as well. Instead of forcing children to learn we should let them learn in their own way.
